She is buried in Sedro Woolley, Skagit Co., WA. He then married Ruth Mainard Johnson on Sept. 6, 1952. She was born on Dec. 15, 1914 in Great Falls, MT and died in July 1998 in Tulsa Oklahoma. He filed for a homestead in the Dye Area, Skagit Co., WA on Oct. 10, 1894 for 40 acres and again on Nov. 22, 1895 for 139.25 acres. In 1914 he invested $100 along with his brother Jacob R. Rothenbuhler as a stockholder to organize the Acme Dairy Association. The Fred Rothenbuhler bridge was built around 1895 at the entrance to Fred's canyon in the Dye Area, Skagit Co., WA. | Howard Ernest Rothenbuhler: Born on July 15, 1917 in Acme, Whatcom Co., WA. After suffering a stroke in November of 1999, he continued to work as the founder of Rothenbuhler Engineering until his death on June 2, 2001. He passed away at United General Hospital in Sedro Woolley, Skagit Co., WA at the age of 83 years. He graduated valedictorian from Mt. Baker High School in 1933 and the University of Washington with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1945. He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and R.O.T.C.. He was also a member of the Sedro Woolley Rotary Club since 1954 and was a president from 1970-71. He married Janet Douglass Thompson in Feb of 1941 in El Paso, TX. She was born on June 26, 1918 in Long Beach, CA and died on Aug. 21, 1997 at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mt. Vernon, WA. She is the daughter of Julia Bell Shands and William Francis Thompson. | Johann (John) Rothenbuhler Jr: Born on Mar. 25, 1836 in Oberwil, Switzerland, a small town near Boltigan. He died on Feb. 22, 1874. He was an organ player for the Reform Church of Oberwil and a teacher. There is a plaque on the wall of this old school house commemorating 20 years taught. He married Margaretha (Margarita) Steiner who was born on May 31, 1829 in Ringenberg, Switzerland although she spoke to her children of Thun, Switzerland. She died on Jan. 8, 1874 ([*2]Jan. 6, 1874--[*7]Jan. 8 1874). She is the daughter of Peter and Margaretha Steiner.
